In ´Padmini´ one experiences subtle variations between the incessant urge to attain oneness (Ekakar) with the Divinity. Saint poet Dnyaneshwar´s poetry ´Runu zunu re bhramara´ could explain things further. The bumble bee is very fickle (like our mind). It shifts from one flower to the other. The poet is asking it to settle down at one place as it has come to the lotus flower which is the symbol of Divinity.
Padmini, for me, has no resemblance to any character in history. Scholars have further differentiated the nayikas according to their character and nature. Padmini is described to be a very beautiful woman who has a love for music, dance and all other arts and who is very sensitive, cultured and respects boundaries.
My Padmini appears blissful and content as she has found peace in what she attains...but the pangs of separation are never ending!
